Chorus Six

Dollars in the bucket
collect for the street singer.
Old man with beads paints a chinaberry
points out the parrots.

Blonde after blonde after blonde
after the parade.
People start looking really strange again.

I must seem likewise to them
as this dusty smell surrounds me.
I'd draw these people with words
but I'm not fast enough.

They pass and fade
part of the parade.

On this really old wall
good view from up here.
Forever is a long time
but not as long as yesterday.

Of "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" by Bob Dylan? Yup.

Shalom & Erev tov...I have the Shabtai Zisel / 'Bob Dylan' words before me, the earliest from 11 August 1962. Along with many others, Shabtai Zisel was using as a template 'Westron Wind', 15th century, 4 lines + melody. In November 1962, for Witmark, he recorded a version which, nearly 57 years later, is still riveting. Unfortunately for 'Dental River', he does not know what he is talking about. Will has not rewritten 'Tomorrow is a long time'.

You're really stretching it there, Barry:

Forever is a long time
but not as long as yesterday.

There may be some Star Trek in there, though.

Again, I remember that day like it was yesterday, but I suspect Saint George Street will be standing, looking the same, long after in gone from scene.
