Hi, Thank you for those replied to my recent posting on getting information on VI for VAX VMS. Some of you mentioned VI emulation written in VAX-TPU. Where can I get this program ? Please send me e-mail with the Internet Address and name. Thank you. Kent khioe@mona.jpl.nasa.gov

Yesterday I retrieved VITPU from gatekeeper.dec.com, [in the directory pub/VMS/vitpu-v5] and compiled it on a couple of VMS machines. It works quite nicely, and I congratulate Gregg Wonderly for his great service. I have noticed only a couple of minor inconsistencies with the standard(?) unix version of vi, but altogether it is quite a usable package. -- Rouben Rostamian Telephone: (301) 455-2458 Department of Mathematics and Statistics e-mail: University of Maryland Baltimore County bitnet: rostamian@umbc.bitnet Baltimore, MD 21228, U.S.A. internet: rouben@math9.math.umbc.edu

There are two VI emulations in GNU Emacs, which compiles on VMS. FTP: prep.ai.mit.edu. There's even a newsgroup, gnu.emacs.vms.
