The stud pattern on Ford Falcons/ Fairlanes is the same

I belive it has been the same pattern since the 1960's till current.
So you shouldnt have any problems fitting the wheels to your Falcon. :)

The only thing you need to worry about is the wheel offset, some of the
older ford rims ( such as 12 slotters)
were a deep dish 7 inch rim, so fitting it to a newer falcon the rim/tyre
would stick out from the guard and the whole thing looks a bit off centre.

hope this helps.

AFAIK, the stud pattern didn't change, but rim offsets changed from
about 6mm to about 36mm.

And Chrysler hubs were an in-between size, meaning that Chrysler pattern
rims fit early Falcs, late Falc fit Chrysler but going the other way
is an interference fit. :-)

I can do that, too. :-)

Correct.

That's only partially true.

The stud pattern changed with the AU model.

While the wheel stud pattern was the same from XR (1966) to EL (1998), the
front wheel bearing hub changed diameter somewhere around XW/Y or XA (I
can't remember exactly now). What that meant was that you had to different
sets of factory steel wheels with the same stud pattern: Those with the
smaller centre hole, and those with the larger one.

I know this probably won't affect most people these days, but I'm just being
pedantic for the sake of it :)

I'm pretty sure the centre hole got larger between the XA and the XB.

Commercial XK to XP's were all 5 stud, but taxi and police versions of these
cars used the regular 4 stud as far as I'm aware. XP's were quite popular
cop cars in Victoria (hands up all those who remember the old black & white
"Homicide" episodes with the XP sedan swinging into the Russell St yard :)

I have an original early Falcon parts manual here, and it makes no mention
of taxi or police axles, or that the five studs were fitted to anything
other than utes or vans.

I remember fitting 4-stud XP wheels to my Datto 1600 about 30 years ago.

The hub centre hole was larger from XC onwards

If we are being picky.
The centre hole increased in diameter very late in the XB series.
My next door neighbor had a very late built XB that had large centres.

How do I know this.
He cut a corner 1 day and ripped out the sidewalls on both passenger
side tyres. My Falcon wheels (XT) wouldn't fit them.

Bob.
