Like I said, it was several steps up from the Perky.

However, as George Dance has stated, because Cohen found little success as a poet, he attempted to write some novels (another failure), then turned to folk music.  The folk music made him famous and he used his success as a singer-songwriter to advance his career as a poet.

Or are you going to disagree with George on this as well?
