Just seen on ITV3.

Talk about the march of the grocer's (or should that be "grocers"?)
apostrophe!

Even the BBC does this sometimes, on screen and on its ("it's"?) news
website.

If they paid me 50 grand a year, I'd proof-read their content for them.

Grocers' or grocer's depending on whether it's (it is) referrring to the
plural or the singular of grocer.

You should see some of the stuff that goes on the autocue. I don't think
any of our little baby journos. know where/when to use apostrophes. It's
a good job they only have to read it.

Don't they also have to type names and titles into the character generator ?

I once saw a "Docter in the House" caption shown as the break-bumper
throughout the film.

Aye and it doesn't get a lot better there. Goodwin's pension pot turned
into £160M rather than £16M recently, and it got read out. You might have
thought someone would have done a sanity check on the numbers.
