They were all "timeless" before WW2, so I think it was probably in
1946-7.

Denis Compton? I know he did it on that 1946-7 tour.

Hedley Verity did so in the Lord's Test of 1934. I don't know if anyone
had done so previously.

George Lohmann (77 @ 13.01). Turner and Peel (mentioned elsewhere) are
comfortably the best with 100+ wickets.
