Switched on the TV with breakfast this morning and the first thing I heard was that Scottish comedian Rikki Fulton has passed away. He was probably unknown outside of the UK (possibly even Scotland) though he hada bit part as a Russian cop in the film of Gorky Park. But in Scotland he was a comedy legend - either by himself in stage shows or with his partner Jack Milroy as a couple of comic teddy boys "Francie and Josie". For many years he wrote and starred in a TV sketch show called 'Scotch and Wry" which featured arguably his most famous creation - a dour clergyman called Rev. I. M. Jolly. For years these shows were a fixture of New Years Eve television in Scotland and Hogmanay has never been quite the same without them He passed away peacefully in his sleep after suffering from Alzeihmers in recent years. Poor old Rikki, I have fond memories of many a Hogmany with Rev I.M. Jolly. Strange thing, I was the King's Theatre last night and saw an old poster of one of his performances and wondered how he was getting on (I remember reading he had Alzheimers). RIP Rikki.

He often played minor characters (or "guested") in comedy and drama - once (memorably) in "Bergerac". --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
