Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone is interested (as it's too old to be vintage, and is arguably not a computer, so may be considered off topic) but last night I scanned in a technical article from the April 1957 edition of the Post Office Electrical Engineers' Journal about ERNIE - the "Electronic Random Number Indicating Equipment" used to generate the prize draw for Premium Bonds. It includes some interesting operational details about how the draw was conducted, and some partial schematics of interesting bits. Anywho, you can grab a 5MB PDF of it from here: http://paulseward.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/POEEJ_V50_P1_April_1957_ERNIE.pdf I tried to OCR it, but the mix of fonts (and a very noisy scan) defeated me so it's just a scan. If anyone happens to have a copy of the Jan 1950 or April 1955 issues of the POEEJ which are mentioned as references, I'd be interested in scans of the appropriate bits. -Paul -- http://paulseward.com
