Hi, Comet have the ML1210 Samsung laser at 69.95 but if you go to Staples who have a 150% price promise and tell them it's cheaper at Comet you get one for 64.93. Bargain or what! Bargain or what! Shouldn't they give you 34.98 and the printer? Or am I misunderstanding the 150%... Tim -- The .sig is dead.

So if it was 10 quid more at Staples they'll knock 15 quid off the price? -- Andrew NOTE: Return E-mail address is a spam-trap and does not get read!

I did a bit of investigation and it is a GDI printer which is the same thing as a Winprinter isn't it? The good news is that Samsung provide a Ghostscript driver complete with source code, so users of Linux etc are well provided for. Maybe that sort of enlightened attitude would also make them less likely to leave Windows users in the lurch a few years down the line? Cartridges seem to be in the region of 50, so you're not wide of the mark about its disposability! -- My real address is in the Reply-To and includes the .nospam. Pretty much. The software makes them a bit of a pain in the arse on slow machines whilst it does the maths for the printer (I'm talking stuff below 400Mhz though). > The good news is that Samsung provide a > Ghostscript driver complete with source code, so users of Linux etc are > well provided for. I wonder if it comes with half filled cartridges like the Lexmark inkjets seem to?

I think all the print spoolers on Linux use Ghostscript somewhere along the line. linuxprinting.org has links to setup instructions for all the print spoolers I've heard of and more. -- My real address is in the Reply-To and includes the .nospam. OTOH, that's longer than most inkjets can last, the toner is actually around 40 online (and 25 for third-party), and it's a very good printer. I like it, anyway. -- >> Ross Tregaskis >> online diary @ <http://inq1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk>

Linuxprinting.org says that Samsung 'lost' this driver during a website reshuffle, but it was released under the GPL, and has since been fixed atleast once. I may even be integrated into a number of distributions now. Details page: http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Samsung-ML-1210
