MOSCOW, Feb 10 (Reuters) - Russia protested to Ukraine on Thursday, saying that its former Soviet neighbour had allowed Chechen separatists to open an information centre there. Russia's Foreign Ministry said a bulletin called "The truth about the war in Ichkeria" had been presented by separatists at a news conference in the Ukranian city of Odessa on February 1. Ichkeria is what pro-independence Chechens call their region, where Russian forces have fought rebels for five months. "There is not a word of truth about the situation in Chechnya in this bulletin," the statement said. "There is an impression that the appropriate Ukranian departments either do not know about the Chechen centre in Odessa or have shut their eyes to its existance," it said. Russia has rejected Western criticism of its campaign in Chechnya and has several times warned other nations about receiving envoys from the breakaway nation.

See how they "weasel word" issues? Trying to create, an *impression* that there is some sort of misconduct here... Why don't the Russian, talk about: "There is an impression that the appropriate [insert your country of choice] departments either do not know about the Chechen centre in [insert your favorite city here] or have shut their eyes to its existance". =================== Rest of text deleted..

Yes. That appears to be the historical and up to present times quite true. The concept is entirely alien to them, and seen as an evil. > Babitsky has paid > with his life for speaking the truth! > > -- > Chechnia belongs to Chechens, Russia belongs to Tatars! > > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ > Before you buy.
