(snip) That is the view pounded into us incessantly and for far longer than I can remember. If that is indeed the case, we should give them credit where credit is due. But as we have seen that the PAP is anything but trustworthy and know better for their shouting out half-truths and disinformation until it became accepted as the 'truth', that line should be examined thoroughly. Singapore is largely Chinese and looking at places of similar nature like HongKong, Taiwan , S. Korea and Japan, we can clearly see that the economic success of those countries as well despite their lack of resources. An especially telling case of economic success will be Hongkong where the government have taken a 'hands off' approach. We can see if there is reasonable stability in that country and if those countries are tied in to the Western trading world, economic progress is inevitable. Looking at our neighbouring countries, we can also see that they are not doing that badly as a whole. Taking the average, they may not be doing as well as Singaporeans. But when we look into their specific details and the wealth breakdown, the Chinese and Indians of those countries control a much higher proportion of the wealth. Consequentially, that particular group in their countries enjoy a living standard as high if not higher than the average Singaporean. I cannot see the hand of PAP in those places I mentioned. Those countries and people came up because of their hard work . We in Singapore are little different from them and we are as good if not better. When we factor in our prime geographical location, our present personal prosperity and living standards are much less than what it could have been. Our economic success is due to our own efforts and we acheived that NOT because of the 'leadership' from the PAP, but despite that handicap and burden on us. The PAP recognised it but in their twisted minds, they went on to rationalised that it was 'due to their leadership'. They went on to command the media to keep pounding it to us day after day, year after year to justify their grip on power and our money. They continue this drumming to make us Singaporeans feel helpless and dependant on them for their own political schemes. They continue to sit at the top together with their families and cronies to milk us all for all it is worth. We are turned from being citizens in our own country to being their subjects to be terrorised and controlled by them and their underlings. >But I do hope that now the election is over, they will >spend more time on economic policies instead of opposition bashing. They spend more time in dividing the cake among themselves. Their economic policies have been geared more towards their own political and personal benefits than towards the country. They will continue to bleed us all as much as they can to keep Singaporeans weak financially so we will feel hapless and fearful of offending them. Our money we made from our hard work is constantly sucked away deliberately by them through their policies and high prices for the HDB hole in the sky. The biggest problem HDB has is how to 'turn' the staggering profits that they make year after year into 'subsidy' from the government. They went on to encourage conspicious consumptions as the start of their 5/6/7/8 Cs. People who do not care to spend much or who cannot spend much are made to feel demoralised by the media trying to whip us into a frenzy of spending. We are are deliberately propagandised to become materialistic and self-centered. We are kept in a state of fear that we lose that. This 'kiasu-ness' is a result of their deliberate policies. You then have to keep hard at it to 'upgrade' yourselves by taking night courses and working harder to have your own homes and more money to spend. We must put all our energies to those 'approved' pursuits so that you will be too tired to think about life and where we are heading as that will be political. When people have their 'hole in the sky' paid up and seemingly out of their crutch, the PAP then introduced 'subsidized upgrading' so that we all have to continue to pay and pay. Check the tenders from the contractors and what we have to pay and you will find the so-called subsidy is feeding more money into the PAP coffers to dispense to themselves, their families, their toads, their kangaroos and running dogs. The PAP knows and wants to maintain that pressure on us all to work harder and harder as the money will go to them and that pressure will keep us compliant and subservant to their further manipulations. Whenever they felt we are making more and able to stand financially independant, they will scheme up something else to bring you down again and make you worry about the money for tomorrow. Singapore as a country has a huge foreign reserve especially in relation to the number of people. We, Singaporeans find it difficult to make ends meet on the other hand. AS A COUNTRY CANNOT MAKE MONEY AND AS IT IS THE PEOPLE OF THAT COUNTRY WHO MAKE THE MONEY, the money Singapore has is our money robbed from us by the policies of the regime to keep us weak and used for themselves and their own purpose. The regime has the audacity to say we are no capable of handling our own money and change their rules again and again such that our money in CPF is further and further from us. They proceed to use our money to pay themselves, sink that into Soochow project, bail out LHL's wife in buying obsolete companies, blow $6 million to trumpet how good LTA is and to cover their other mistakes. Those money in our hands would have been used far more wisely as seed money for countless other companies like Creative Tech. All of us would have benefited. But as that will make us Singaporeans independant and blow away the lies of the PAP that they are indispensible, they will not allow us that option. They rather see us struggling and cowering before them than to lose an inch of their pompous political face. That is why they stooped so low in the last General Elections. That is why even after that GE, they still indulge in orgiastic feeding frenzy on the carcasses of opposition members already beaten by the PAP lies and their brutal use of terrorist threats to turn our homes into slums. That is to underline their key message to Singaporeans not to oppose them like the wild dogs that they are. >Well, lets face it. If the PAP is as good at governing the country as >putting down the opposition, we are in good hands. But of course, >this is an entirly different ball game, and team. It is a statement to the good that Singaporeans still have deep underlying doubts as to whether PAP is good at governing the country despite their pounding via the media on how good they are. Your subconscious gut feeling is correct. The PAP are not good for us and not good for governing our country. They are not good for themselves either as they have set out our country to be run not on true democratic principles but on the Fuehrer principles. That whoever be the Fuehrer will make the principles. The top echelon is packed with would-be and wannabe Fuehrers (including GCT) bidding for the time when the old Fuehrer passes on. Hopefully, the fight those greedy bastards will have will tear only their PAP apart but not Singapore but I doubt that. We have only ourselves to blame for voting them in and voting out the checks and balances and accountability to us. We can only stand back and watch the prices of everything rise to bleed us further and watch them all get richer and more pretentious in the meantime.
