Well, begging your collective net.indulgence I am reposting my query due to problems with my Internet service provider... I have an HP LJ IIP with a peculiar problem. One pixel, non-orthogonal lines don't print except at the endpoints (or what I think are the endpoints). Thicker lines and orthogonal lines print OK, as do text and bitmaps. It also passes self-test. It seems like a glitch in the line rasterizer firmware. So, what is the problem? I suspect the controller card will need replacement. Anyone know of upgrades, like using a IIIP controller? I know of a Xante replacement controller, though it's expensive. Any leads on an inexpensive (used?) identical replacement would also be appreciated. Mail to glen_okita@livewire.com may be the most reliable way to respond. (But my account there has limited News access.)
