Week23 of le Championnat, played the 11th of January 1995 FFF (or the League Committee or whoever) awarded the game interupted due to snow, between Metz and Lyon to the visitors with 2-1 (the score at the stoppage). Metz wil protest against the decision. AJ Auxerre 1 FC Metz 1 Laslandes '51 Pierre '47 Att.: 11000 After a scoreless first half, Metz took a surprise lead just after the break scoring through defender Pascal Pierre. Les Auxerrois needed just four minutes to reply, when Lilian Laslandes went up to head home the equalizer (on a Martins (?) cross). However, the Messins held on to the point despite huge pressure from the home side. Stade Malherbe Caen-C-B-N 2 SC Bastia 1 Huysman '1 Drobjnak '50 Dedebant '14 Att.: 12000 The points were very valuable at Michel d'Ornano, however it was was only match for fourteen minutes. Les Malherbistes got the perfect start scoring in the first minute through Nicolas Huysman. On fourteen minutes, Stephane Dedebant added the second to more or less wrap up the game. The Corsicans got their consolation five minutes after the interval through there usual targeter, Drobjnak. However, the islanders were unable to find the equalizer. And therefore, Caen left the cellar while Bastia slipt into it. Lille OSC 1 AS Monaco 0 Duncker '13 Att.: 15000 (sounds high) Les Nordistes took all points, surprisingly, thanks to a goal from Arnaud Duncker on 13 minutes. Otherwise, Monaco have started the year well, but this evening weren't theirs and they couldn't find a way past Jean-Claude Nadon in the LOSC goal. Three valuable points for the home side who got some much neede breathing space. Olympique Lyonnais 3 AS Cannes 1 Maurice '1 Kozniku '22 Roche '38 Rivenet '76 Att.: 16000 The top clash of the weekend turned in the home side's favour. Florial Maurice gave OL the early lead only to see Adrian Kozniku levelling the score midways through the first half. Stephane Roche put the home side in front again, after Lemasson had saved and the ball had bounced in the post before it arrived to Roche who slotted home. The game were sealed when Claude-Arnaud Rivenet got onto a pass from Maurice 14 minutes from time. L'OL go second with one game more played. FC Martigues 0 RC Lens 0 Att.: 3000 (Played the 20th). Lens were held to a scoreless draw by a Martigues side struggling up front. The same can be said about Lens, so the score outta be quite logical, I suppose. Montpellier-Herault SC 2 Havre AC 1 Divert '1 Meszoly '30 Divert '28 Att.: 6000 Fabrice Divert was the hero at Mosson pulling off two goals giving Montpellier the points, both within the first half hour. The visitors pulled one back just after the second, though, through Hungarian International Meszoly. However, the points stayed in Herault. MHSC, for the first time since the beginning of the season, left the cellar and seem to be moving upwards. OGC Nice-Cote d'Azur 3 RC Strasbourg 4 Chaouch '32 Leboeuf '14-p.k. Chaouch '35 Mostovoi '26 Fugen '89 Bouafia '54 Keller '62 Att.: 5000 Any neutral observer must have enjoyed the excitment at Stade Duray Saturday night. Racing went two in front within the first half hour, Franck Leboeuf getting the first from the spot. Alexander Mostovoi made it two twelve minutes later. Les Nicois levelled the score in four minutes though, both goals from Maroccan International Mohammed Chaouch. The second half started like the first, with the visitors takign the lead, Ali Bouafia and Marc Keller made the difference. The match wasn't over since Nice pulled one back in the dying minutes and the match ended chaotic when Nice tried to level things up yet again. FC Paris-Saint-Germain 0 FC Nantes-Atlantique 3 Loko '35 N'Doram '60 N'Doram '73 Att.: 45266 Bravo (PSG) red card 24th. Colleter (PSG) red card 79th. (Played the 11th). The clash between the top two was brought forward to the 11th of some wierd reason. It took place in front of a full house at Parc des Princes. The first major inciedent was Daniel Bravo being sent off for a foul on Japhet N'Doram. The one man advantage allowed Canaris to control the game and they also took the lead thanks to another one from topscorer Patrice Loko. The second half saw PSG moving forward while Nantes scored the goals. Japhet N'Doram scored twice to leave PSG with their first league home defeat for two years. The misery was completed when Patrick Colleter joined the stands, also being sent off. Les Canaris went ten points clear, although PSG have one game in hand, still it will be very difficult to catch up now. Stade Rennais FC P FC Sochaux-Montbeliard P POSTPONED due to terrential rain. AS Saint-Etienne 2 FC Girondins de Bordeaux 1 :-( :-( Blanc '72 Bancarel '68 Ziadi '80 Att.: 6000 Swierczwski (ASSE) red card. Histilloles (Bordeaux) red card. Les Stephanois fielded a young and unexperienced side, but still took all points, that tells something about the Bordeaux side of today :-( After the first half there Christophe Dugarry had the best chances, the fire broke loss when the Pole Swierczewski knocked down Zidane. Zidane got injured whiel the Pole was sent off, though nto before he, himself, had been knocked out of action by Senac (who didn't like the treatment of Zidane, understandably). Anthony Bancarel followed up his hat trick in Forboach with another goal, taking advantage of a Blanc mistake to drive home. Three minutes later, Blanc made up for it getting first to the ball, in a race with Huard, to snatch the equalizer. Franck histilloles was brought down and didn't like that, so he kicked the Green player and... was sent off. With both sides down to ten, the home side were silly enough to score again :-( A cross from Laurent Blanc was met by Ziadi's head (whoever that is!) and the match was over. And yes, this was football and no kick-boxing variant... Next week sees a tough clash in Cannes which we can't afford to lose (we couldn't afford to lose this one, either and what did we?!) and with all the suspensions caused by the mess described above, that will be an enormous task.
