Week 21 of Le Championnat, played the 17th and 18th of December 1994

AJ Auxerre 2 AS Monaco 2
    Saib '47 Djorkaeff '6
    Vahirua '75 Djorkaeff '9
Les Monegasques got off to a flying start at l'Abbe-Deschamps.
Two quick goals by Youri Djorkaeff in the first ten minutes shocked
everyone. The first came on six minutes when he came alone
with Charbonnier. Three minutes later, he met a cross from Victor
Ikpeba and the visitors were two up. L'AJA must have got new inspiration
at the break, two minutes into the second half, Moussa Saib
slotted one back to give the home side some hope of a come back.
The equalizer didn't came until a quarter from time, Pascal Vahirua
got on a cross from Sabri Lamouchi. So, Monaco no longer have
the best defence in the league, but still a good point in Auxerre.

Stade Malherbe Caen-C-B-N 0 FC Nantes-Atlantique 2
                                            N'Doram '24
                                            Rival '68-o.g.
    Att.: 20000
The leaders march on with another victory in front of a full
crowd at Michel d'Ornano. A nice combination between Benoit Cauet
and Nicolas Ouedec allowed Japhet N'Doram to put Nantes ahead.
The match was decided in the middle of the second half when nice work
on the left by Claude Makelele set up Nicolas Ouedec for the second,
his shot was deflected by the poor Emmanuel Rival to leave Dutruel without
a chance. Les Canaris stay four points clear over the break,
the coming shot down at Parc des Princes will be interesting.

Lille OSC 1 FC Sochaux-Montbeliard 0
    Sibierski '67
A rare happening occurred at Grimmonprez-Jooris, the stadium
was full, thanks to Peugeot who bought all tickets.
That didn't help their team though, U-21 International Antoine Sibierski
scored the lone goal midways through the second half on a Asssadourian
pass. Three important points for LOSC who are now six points
clear of the cellar. Sochaux, on the other hand, have a huge task
    to stay up.

Olympique Lyonnais 0 SC Bastia 0
L'OL failed to take the expected three pointer at Gerland due to bad
finishing and an excellent Bruno Valencony in the Bastia goal.
Instead, les Bastiais had a golden chance to create the upset when
anton Drobjnak was fouled by Pascal Olmeta. However, Pierre Laurent
hit the post on the following penalty and Lyon stay at the third spot
    over the winter break.

FC Martigues 1 FC Girondins de Bordeaux 0 :-(
    Pounewatchy '85
Girondins ended the year on the wrong foot failing to score
again at Francis-Turcan. Instead, they conceded a late goal to end
up empty-handed :-( The home side, hit by many injuries, scored
the lone goal five minutes from time when Stephane Pounewatchy
get higher than everyone else to head home a corner.

FC Metz 3 AS Cannes 2
    Pouget '10 Horlaville '64
    Kastendeuch '66-p.k. Koot '85
    Pouget '68
Metz got an early goal by Cyrille Pouget and that looked to the lone
goal of the game for an hour. Midways through the second half,
Christophe Horlaville intercepted a back pass and snatched the equalizer.
Two minutes later, the home side went ahead again when the referee
found a hand touching the ball in the Cannes area. The penalty
was easily converted by Sylvain Kastendeuch. Olivier Ioucha set up Pouget
for the third two minutes later. Though, the game wasn't over,
Addick Koot headed home a corner to make the final minutes very tense
    - in the end, Metz took all points, though. Les Messins have really
finshed the year in good style.

Montpellier-Herault SC 3 AS Saint-Etienne 2
    Der Zakarian '8 Blanc '52-p.k.
    Divert '31 Moravcik '74
    Lefevre '75
    Perez (ASSE) red card 69th.
Montpellier grabbed their third win of the season to send their remaining
fans wild. But, it was after a crazy game at Mosson. The home
side went ahead when Michel Der Zakarian got an early birthday present
(went 30 the 18th), when he headed home a free kick from Reuzeau.
Fabrice Divert made it two on the half hour when he got onto a corner.
However, the second half saw the Green coming back into the game,
Thierry Laurey handled and Laurent Blanc pulled one back from the spot.
The hope of a point seemed to be dashed when Perez got his marching
orders twenty minutes from the whistle. Though, Lubomir Moravcik
had other plans bringing the teams level a quarter from time. The home
side didn't give up striking back immediately through substitute
Fabien Lefevre. That means Montpellier leave the bottom
of the leader to Sochaux. They are still in the cellar, though.

OGC Nice-Cote d'Azur 0 Havre AC 2
                                            Langrage '56
                                            Lagrange '83
Christophe Lagrange scored two second half goals to give LHAC
a solid platofrm for the new year. Les Nicois on the
other hand, lacked the final touch and are still in relegation
    danger.

FC Paris-Saint-Germain 1 RC Strasbourg 0
    Ginola '34-p.k.
    Att.: 29261
PSG needed a penalty to win the final game of the year. It came
ten minutes from the interval when Georges Weah was taken down.
David Ginola made no mistake from the spot to keep up the
    pace with the leaders.

Stade Rennais FC 0 RC Lens 1
                                            Debeve '19
Lens went back into the fight for the third spot in the standings
with a good pefromance. A first half goal by Michael Debeve, after Brunel
had flicked on a corner was all the Nordistes needed. Rennes tried
hard to equalize in the second half, but they were held
at bay by superb goalkeeping by Guillaume Warmuz.

Note three weeks break.
