Epson 636 pro
Agfa Arcus2
Umax Powerlook2
Scan Ace3

I know there have been lots of posts on these individually.

They all feature 600dpi 36 bit color and offer a TA

I believe they are all 3.0 dynamic range except the Umax at 3.2

The Agfa has the largest bed (14in)


My questons are-
1) customer service/support (I have a Umax and Epson products and found
support minimal), comments?

2) is the Umax at 3.2 rule the others out for better film scans?

3) at $1150 (www.computeresp) the Agfa is the lowest price but is it the
best buy?

4) which software is best?
PS I will use this with my Mac but all are available for Windows although
I have seen win95 problems posted

Well if your buying this scanner for negative and slide scanning your looking at the wrong scanner. With with the $500+
Transparency adapter, the scanner doesn't have enough resolution to turn a stamp size origanal into a 5x7 or 8x10. If
you are going to scan slides and such, get a slide scanner.
