New Keith Green CDs?

Hi, I stopped by my local Christian music store yesterday just to
browse, and saw that they had about four new Keith Green CDs, each
divided into songs of a specific type, topic, intent, etc. On each label
it said these CDs contained some unreleased studio and live music. Has
anybody out there gotten these yet, and can you give me a review and an
idea of just how much new and unreleased stuff is on them? I have both
"Ministry Years" sets, which I treasure, and these new CDs look
interesting and are being sold at a great price, but I'm a little leery
of them containing more duplication of what I already have than new
stuff.

Thanks,
Greg Bailey

Greg -

As far as I know, the new CDs don't contain any new material. The
'Ministry Years' covered about everything he ever released (plus a few
extras). However, they recently re-release the Ministry Years with a
electronic version of "No Compromise" on the CD.

Hi Greg,

I have bought all 4 of the new releases you're talking about and I'm personally
glad I did. There are songs that are no different than on the other releases
and then there are a few new unreleased live versions that you'll never find
anywhere else. Keith also speaks in some of the live tracks which has never
been released before. There is also a song or two from the Keith Green Memorial
concert that Keith sings live. In my opinion, If you really like Keith and
want anything new that you don't already have then you will likely want to get
these. If it has to be a whole album filled with all new songs or unreleased
material then you might not want to get it. One of the songs, Oh Lord, You're
Beautiful" brought me to tears when I first heard it. The lyrics are not
exactly the same as the commercial version and it caught me off guard, it was
great! Oh well, I hope this helps a little bit.

How does Keith sing live in his own Memorial concert?

I think what you saw were repackaged versions of Keith's
original releases. I read that his parents were going to
release recordings Keith made when he was a child star...
before his career was railroaded by Donny Osmond. I can't
find them anywhere, however.

Meanwhile... still waiting for the movie adaptation of "No
Compromise." Would be a great flick for the MTV crowd...

I heard a never before released song of Keith Green was on the First Love
Compilation. Can anyone verify because my local bookstore doesn't carrry it.

Just wishing out loud on my part. It's not happening
AFAIK... Maybe my old pal Wendell Moody is still making
Christian Films at White Lion Picograph in TX. It's been
TOO MANY YEARS since I was out there...

I've got a CD copy of "Keith Green Live: His Incredible Youth" Is that
what you're talking about.
It was recorded live when Keith was 18, released by Sonrise Music in
'95. The liner notes promise more like it to come, but none have
materialized so far.
