okay, i don't normally walk into the hmv in vardiff as it is such a small store with an almost non existant jazz section. but i kinda did - well... saw this beautiful redhead going in there so i instictively followed her.. upon entering i lost sight of her as there were three black men wrestling with the security people shouting 'why do you always pick on black people' (hello, why do criminals always play the race card?!? there were quite a few black customers in the shop and i am non white as well as the guards never picked on us probably because we hadn't been taking the actual cds out of their sleeves, saying how crap they were and putting them back and all the while smoking in a non smoking shop and pushing away other genuine customers...) anyway, there was a special offer sale going on with a few jazz cds, buy three and save ten pounds. so i have picked up bill evans paris concert, you must belive in spring and miles davis' tutu. these are allwarner brothers remastered rereleases. listening to the paris concert now. its from 1979... so very late bill and the changes in harmony is noticeable... the others in the trio are marc johnson and Joe LeBarbara. good buy? puck www.clockswithbells.free-online.co.uk some of the best new writing from UK university students
