I just purchased 18 A-2 jackets in an old warehouse that has been out of service for awhile. They have turned out to be really nice, high quality jackets. These are actually New, original A-2's made by Avirex in 1978. The tag inside the jacket just below the collar is black w/ gold print and says the following: TYPE A-2 DRAWING NO. 30-1415 CONTRACT NO. 1978-01 AVIREX LIMITED@ NEW YORK, NEW YORK U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES About 4" below this tag is a 7" x 9" sewn in patch that gives specifications for low level flight No:84 62 JRC35AC 2 SMC NYC PB. There are then instructions for wearing during flight and cleaning instructions. This is followed by a full color Army Air Corp. insignia about 1.5" in diameter. Below the insignia is "AVIREX U.S.A. NEW YORK, N.Y. The leather quality is fabulous! Sizes available are as follows: 1 - 38 6 - 40 1 - 42 0 - 44 4 - 46 (had 6 but traded off 1 and am keeping 1 for me) 1 - 48 3 - 50 There are Longs as well as regular cut. I generally wear a 44 long but I'm keeping a 46 long from this group because it fits me perfectly! I have both black and brown colors. I will need to get $160 each for them plus freight. You are welcome to prepay and I'll pay for ground freight or I'll send you a jacket via Fed Ex COD. This would cost about $20 for 1 jacket. I am also open for trade out oportunities on older issue leather or nylon flight jackets if you happen to have some you'd like to trade off. Best Regards, Greg If you're interested, get back with me ASAP. I have offered them to a few dealers and expect to hear back soon. Greg Wallraven gregw@cowboy.net wallraven@aol.com
