First of all, the weather doesn't look too promising for this weekend.
There's a possibility of rain for both days. Sun actually has a
chance of a rain/snow mix! ... and even if it doesn't, at race time
it will still be in the 40's.

(Scheduling this race for early April was a mistake... it should have
been in the summer like Pocono always was)

Otherwise, the Penske cars as well as Montoya and Fernandez did well
in the first practice. Brack and Salles have hit the wall, but are
OK.

On a lighter note, everyone's favorite track owner :) TG, is in town
for the Silver Crown race (7G has some pix of him on the rumours page
hanging around the pits)

The only big get-together I know of is the 7G thing at the Chi-Chi's
at the Lehigh Valley mall starting about 5pm after the Silver Crown
race. (go see 7G for details) I hope to be there if the weather is
Ok. These things apparently go on for many hours, so we can all sit
around sipping Margarita's with those silly little umbrellas and lots
of chips & salsa and discuss the weather and how well Champ cars might
run on snow tires. Hey... maybe TG will be there and we can all talk
about "the split" too ! :)

One more thing... supposedly the rain date is for Monday (if it rains
Sun) not a later date in May. (though I wish it was)

Here's another weather URL:

According to the local (Philly) evening news weathercast this evening,
a cold front is going to come through this area Sat evening. :(

You sure it was a mistake? Sounds more like an easy out to me now that Penske
is no longer running the show there. A race with shitty attendance to begin
with is recheduled to early April? This turnout is gonna make the Phoenix IRL
race look like the Indy 500. Latest from the weather channel is windy with a
high temp of 47.It was snowing here earlier this week and its supposed to again
Sat. night, what the hell were they thinking? I'll be there, look for me on tv,
I'll be the guy wearing a hat.

I do wish they would come back to Pocono now that they've cleaned up their act.
They always drew 50 to 80k. I was there for every race in the 80s except the
81 disaster when the evil folks at cart were trying to destroy open wheel
racing.
