In the paper this morning, Tagliani was saying that Forsythe had invested a
few 100K to rent a wind tunnel, this year.

Do any teams actually *own* one ?

Penske is investing in a new one in collboration with Reynard.
Pretty sure AAR does but they are not currently in CART.

Don't think the others do. The one we hear the most about is Swift's,
which has also been used by Stewart and Williams F1 teams.

it sounds cooler....
the "swift tunnel" sounds like some kinda space-port from Star trek,..
the "williams tunnel" sounds like a crappy old concrete access road under
the Hudson river,..

Thats my guess,.. ;-)

Why would Williams use the Swift tunnel - is theirs broken?

It was the newest state of the art moving ground plane
wind tunnel in the world when it opened in early 1996.
Williams used it for three months while relocating to
new digs.

Well last I heard the Williams tunnel was in Grove and the Swift tunnel
in California.

They mention the drag tank too. You don't hear much about
those.
