Sorry, my Usenet software didn't send ther body of the message out--here
it is...

Hi,

Weve been fixing up our recital hall and have put in a new light
system--but it buzzes a little and makes the audio recordings less-than
great. So, does anyone have any ideas on how to quiet the lights down?
Heres the info on the system we have;

Strand Lighting Premiere is the controller
Strand Lighting CD80 is the dimmer pack
All the lights are Quartz 250 Watt floods.

I should also say that the dimmer pack is far away from the stage so Im
not hearing the dimmer pack buzzing--its the lights that are doing the
buzzing.

Thanks,

--Phil

P.S. I don't think it is 60Hz--but some upper harmonic the 60Hz.

: Gents,

: It isn't the Premiere or the CD80 pack. It is the lamp. Chances are
: that your lamps are GE Q250 PAR38 FL, tungsten halogen type. My experience
: IN EVERY CASE where I have used this lamp, is filament sing.

You could also try and find a local sylvania distributer. All though I'm
not familliar with the particular lamp you are using, a different
manufacturer may use a different suspention design.

		See Ya,
		Dave
