Does the cheeky little shit from Human Traffic and Canterbury Tales really have the gravitas to play The Master? There's been a lot of crap minor celebrity casting in the new series, but you'd think they would have learned from the mistakes of the TV Movie, maybe? BTN

No. No, I haven't. Assuming he's in that, was he, or it, any good? I watch a very limited range of TV, but I have a very good memory for characters. Freema's mum was in Jonathan Creek. BTN

Life on Mars was probably the best BBC programme of the last 10 years and he excelled in it IMO. I`m certainly willing to give him a shot. I reckon the bloke who played Gene Hunt would have made an interesting Master!

Both series are available on DVD, I can`t recommend it highly enough. It`s about a detective that falls through time and finds himself in a police force in 1973 which is rotten to the core. Through out the series we are left to wonder why he`s in 1973, whether it`s real or a dream and how he can return to his own time. It`s like an s/f version of The Sweeney and often hilarious. There wasn`t a bad episode IMO.
