There was a period of 6 months a few years ago where I didn't own a television, just a computer, and I was still hounded by the licence people. They didn't seem to care that I didn't own a TV - I was on thier records as not paying, and they demanded payment. I paid it in the end to avoid the hassle (since I knew I was getting a TV anyway soon). I watch the BBC (albeit rarely) and pay the licence fee. What I object to is the lack of choice in the matter. The BBC should be a subscription service like everything else, it should not be bundled along with a new television in the same way a retail outlet bundles games it can't sell with a games console. You should be able to unsubscribe from the service when you are unhappy with it, without fear of being locked up or having your 56inch HD set taken away.
