So is Killgrave going to sexually abuse/rape a different superheroine every time he appears? Surely he wouldn't live very long if he did.

It was Bendis who came up with that first in Alias, so he's the one you've got to watch out for.

It was Bendis who first gave Killgrave this kick for sexually humiliating female superheroes. He actually wanted to use Spider-Woman for the story he did in Alias but he wasn't allowed to. Now Fabian has done just that in T-Bolts#12. Poor Jessica(s).

Did Tom Grummett draw a Spider-Woman flying up to attack the Tbolts - alongside other folks like Justice, Firestar, the Vulture and someone with a staff who looked like a mix between Quasar and Thor? And meanwhile, Jessica Drew is in the Avengers tower with Cap and Killgrave? -- Sean, may be seeing things...

Surely he wouldn't live very long if he did. More to the point, we now know what Fabian would spend his time doing if he had those powers. Jon -- Kurt: "There was Bucky Barnes, Fred Davis, Jack Monroe, Lemar Hoskin and Rikki Barnes, at least, plus Ultimate Bucky and various What-If Buckies." rc022586: "Which one was the black Bucky?" Kurt: "A list of names like that and you can't tell which one was the black guy?"

Not even close, Killgrave enslaved and impregnated the mother of Kara, the Purple Girl/Persuasion of Alpha Flight, about twenty years ago. He later released her from his control, hoping (for some reason) that her mindlessly enslaved love would have developed into real love, but mercifully, it was not to be.

"Simply" moving an existing pattern of behaviour up to the next level, it was established he would use his powers for gratification without the targets consent. he's just upped his loathesome little game. > He actually wanted to use Spider-Woman > for the story he did in Alias but he wasn't allowed to. Surely he wouldn't live very long if he did. *shrug* "Heroes don't kill." IIRC, he didn't actually rape Jessica Jones.

Bendis wanted Jessica Drew to be the star of the book. I don't think he'd planned out "Purple" before he'd actually created Jessica Jnes.

Yes. I noticed the same. I assume the one with the staff is Asgardian from Young Avengers. > And meanwhile, Jessica Drew is in the Avengers tower with Cap and > Killgrave? Yes, apparently.

No, but he made her watch while he raped other girls, which easily comes under the heading of sexual abuse. And *realistically* he's only doing what any evil bastard would do with his power, and in fact, would hardly be the only super-villain rapist. Given that normal men took to raping women in the Superdome, despite being in the middle of the worst natural disaster in the nation's history, what supervillains would do is actually terrifying and I for one can live happily without a more *realistic* representation of super-sex abusers. I've already had enough between Purple Man and Dr. Light.

While he does make ordinary woman have sex with him, he seems to prefer to sexually humiliate the super-powered ones but without having actual sex, at least if Alias is anything to go by. Perhaps it's fear on his part. Perhaps he can't `perform' if the woman's too intimidating, no matter how in his thrall she is. Or perhaps he's scared of what the reprisal will be if she gets free of his power.

Of course no-one overtly said it WAS spider-Woman in the tower. Just a dark-haired woman named Jessica who we took to be her. It was the references to weaving webs and pheromones that gave us the further hint.

<*shrug* "Heroes don't kill." IIRC, he didn't actually rape Jessica Jones.> You're a woman with superhuman powers, probably including superstrength. You come to your senses after hours/days/weeks/months of mental domination by a perverse and loathsome insect of a man. You realise that during that time you've been degraded, humiliated, made to parade around naked, treated like a toy and, for all you know, raped. You may even be carrying a child or have who-knows-what disease. The trauma will mark you for life. That man is standing before you, his power over you, for whatever reason, not working. But that's not to say it won't come back. "Heroes don't kill."? You'd have to be a saint. And even if you can restrain your bottomless rage and the urge to snap him like a twig, the ferocity of your assault may accidentally finish him.
