In the first volume of the GSC manga, there is a strange scene in chapter 2 that has puzzled me for so long. Am I imagining things or is Minnie-May giving that man a blow-job? Dark Horse Comics edits out the lesbian sex in Ghost in the Shell, yet this is kept in?

They clipped that page out of the individual issue (which, due one distributor forgetting to offer it, is quite rare) and restored it in the TPB. And IIRC it was Shirow who thought he went too far with the lesbian orgy and had it clipped out of the US version, along with redrawing the panel leading up to it. -- David "No Nickname" Crowe jet...@getnet.net Fight on strong 'till the sun goes down/ Raise your fist and wave it in the air like a flag -G-Gundam 2nd opening theme "I'll Trust You Forever"

That reminds me...Yoshiyuki Tomino himself is said to have asked that an episode be deleted from his original "MS Gundam" series before it aired on CN last year. I seem to see similar revisions being made by a lot of Japanese authors and producers when they feel dissatisfied with some element in their past work. -- Yusaku Jon III http://members.dca.net/yusaku-jon-3/

Just was IS/was the fan opinion at large about Nagai anyway? He seems really good at being able to tell stories and even put some humor in them, but apparently his sense of shock scares off a lot of people. (Or maybe did it cause he thought people WERE too uptight...)

Did they? That may have been in the original Japanese manga given the old restrictions on showing pubic hair and genetalia. In fact there was a translated Go Nagai manga I saw a few years ago where he drew a scene to blatantly show his new freedom to show pubic hair since the law had changed. Can't remember how exactly. tim gueguen 101867

Sorry - I wasn't too clear on that. Dunno if the Japanese manga is grayed out or not, although I was told once that having the grayed-out one was worth extra $$ as a collectable since it wasn't grayed on later printings, but was making the point that DH's collection has it grayed out ALSO. My Japanese copy, which is far from a first printing is also grayed out. I don't think Japanese manga companies are bothering to go back and 'ungray' the censored bits in regular manga.
