The San Juan Unified School District is seeking interested
applicants for a Research Specialist. Interested persons are urged

Position: Research Specialist
District: San Juan Unified School District Salary: $53,885 to
$67,149
Work year: 225 days

San Juan Unified School District is one of the ten largest
districts in California and has a student enrollment of 47,000.
The district is located in Sacramento, California which is about
90 miles from San Francisco and Lake Tahoe.

Description of Responsibilities: Plans, coordinates and executes
research and assessment development efforts related to district
projects or district programs. Work with curriculum specialists
and other district staff in designing and assessing grade level
standards, including teacher judgement of student work in the
classroom, districtwide assessment instruments, and use of norm
referenced tests. Knowledge and skills in designing and
implementing research methodologies, data tabulation, statistical
analysis, computer applications and interpretation of research
findings. Ability to work with and communicate with a variety of
audiences.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or
university with a degree in a research related or education
oriented field. Course work or experience in areas such as:
program assessment, program evaluation, curriculum
design/development and measurement of student academic progress.
Experience in the public school system is desirable.
