I went into C:\winnt\system32 to delete a bunch of screensavers I didn't want. They went into the recycle bin and I emptied the recycle bin. They looked like they were deleted in the window, but then I checked my screensavers and they were there again! When I browsed back to the folder, they had mysteriously reappeared. I'm on an Administrator account. How do I remove these screensavers? Thanks.

After many years of problems and complaints with corrupted, missing and over written system files, Microsoft decided to protect people from "their own, and others, stupidity" by incorporating Windows File Protection into the system. I think it should have been done from Windows 95 onward. It does put a dent in the cash flow though (o: "Andy Lin" <andyylin@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OWCVJhNgBHA.2120@tkmsftngp02... > I went into C:\winnt\system32 to delete a bunch of screensavers I didn't > want. If you are using XP, it has this recovery system that restores all system files that are not from the original setup. Also when you delete files it restores it automatically. BTW, why on earth you should delete these files?????? If you really want to delete these files delete them also from C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache directory. Don't blaim me if you follow this instruction and something goes wrong. I would not do this. -- Hope this helps :-) --------------------------------- Mr. Mace, System Specialist, MCSE - Windows XP Pro & Office XP "Andy Lin" <andyylin@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OWCVJhNgBHA.2120@tkmsftngp02... > I went into C:\winnt\system32 to delete a bunch of screensavers I didn't > want.
