Excel won't Open or Save.

I am using Office 97 with SR2 installed and one of my users is having a serious problem with Excel. Word works fine, but in Excel the user is unable to open or save a file. When he presses File -> Open or File -> Save or File -> Save As, nothing happens. It simply goes back to the Excel spreadsheet. If he closes the spreadsheet and is prompted to save changes, he presses Yes to save changes over and over with no results. It keeps prompting him. Eventually he must press No or Cancel to get out of Excel. The only way to get into an existing Excel spreadsheet is to double-click it from File Manager or Explorer. But no changes made to it can be saved, so it's not much help. Printing works fine from Excel however. I've tried doing a Reinstall to replace any corrupted files, but it didn't help. The strange thing is it's only in Excel that this happens, and he's the only user. Any ideas where I can start to get him working? Thanks. Kraig Elliott kelliott@suffolk.lib.ny.us
