Anyone know of any reason why I can't/shouldn't upgrade my DOS from 4 to 6.2
on my Travelmate 3000? The DOS isn't hard wired into the bios or something, is
it? I really want the extra space that DOS double-spacing will give me on my
40 meg hard drive. But I don't want to do anything incredibly stupid, ya no?

Also, anyone know the cost and work involved in :
Upgrading my hard drive to a bigger one.
Upgrading my board from a 386 to a 486.
Replacing my monitor(display) since it's got a lot of burn in.
Are any of these things a competent amateur can do?
