Yes, this is a frequently encountered problem when building Pine and/or
imapd.  Blame SUN for its broken compilers and runtimes that let you
compile in one environment (BSD vs SVR4) and link in another.

We've received innumerable suggestions from the net of how to fix it.
None of the suggestions work, or rather, none work all the time.

The pre-built binaries on the ftp.cac.washington.edu FTP server are
correct, so unless you need custom modifications you are better off using
these.
