1.5.2 Light vs. 1.5.4 Beta: Worth The Download?

Before I stand in line for my copy of the 1.5.4 Beta, will it really be
worth it? Eudora Light seems to hum along at a respectable clip here
inside the byte box...

Anyone out there noticed any miraculous improvement in your mail-handling
ability when you upgraded from Light to Beta? Did it improve your
well-being (whatever that is!)? Are you a happier camper? Were you a
happy camper?

Terry

IMHO it is worth the download. I like the feature where the new
version recognizes URL links from within email messages and the
ability to activate them from emails.

Regarding the "miraculous improvements " and "improved well-being",
well I would recommend a camping trip without the byte box :-))

See my posting of article 4903. I could not connect to my mail server
when I switched to the new beta version and kept the settings the same
in my .ini file. I reinstalled ver. 1.5.2 and everything was fine again.
If you find out what the difference is between the two versions that
caused this problem and what settings must be changed, please let me
know.
Thanks!

Certainly was painless. The new expanded help is nice, and linked
URL's are, too. Other than that, don't see world-shaking change going
to the 16-bit version running WFW 3.11.

I seem to remember having this problem when I changed over. As far as
I remember I copied the 1.5.2 .ini into the directory where the 1.5.4
resided and away it went.

Hi,

I installed the beta version over my old version and it picked up
the settings automatically from the old version. I had no problems
running it at all. I am not sure what is causing your problems.

Stacey.

Ver. 1.5.2 does this very well for me!
