SUBJECT
  media/anim/jmedia - Java multimedia authoring

URL
  http://www.protagonist.com/java/ (Application)

DESCRIPTION
jmedia is an authoring tool and object class library which allows
multimedia applications to be easily built using Java. The software
can be used to create animations, title screens, and page layouts.
Future versions will support the new media API's to allow the
integration of even more media types. The software consists of two
parts, the editor and the SDK. For non-programmers, the jmedia is a
complete multimedia authoring tool, with page layout capabilities,
and a sophisticated messaging system for creating complex interactive
  applications.

The jmedia SDK is still in early beta, the documentation is minimal,
and the quality of the examples only scratch the surface of the
software's capabilities. It has been tested on Windows 95, Macintosh,
and Solaris, with most of the development taking place on Win95 using
Symantec Cafe. The software doesn't use native code, so it should run
on any Java-capable operating system. You'll need to have Sun's JDK
1.0.2 installed to run the editor.

Documentation for this release is sparse, but installation
instructions and javadoc created class documentation are online and
  included with the downloadable package.

VERSION
  1.0b7

PRICE
The current beta version is available for free.
