SUBJECT media/gfx/LiquidReality - 3D toolkit using Java & VRML URL http://www.dimensionx.com/products/lr/index.html (Native) DESCRIPTION The Liquid Reality toolkit blends Java and VRML into a product that developers can use to build VRML 2.0 compliant browsers, editors, and solutions. The toolkit itself is a set of Java classes that provide you with VRML 2.0 functionality. Browsers and tools built with the toolkit have some unique features. For example, if a Liquid Reality browser downloads a custom VRML node, but doesn't have that node implemented, it can dynamically download (because its written in Java) the classes needed to implement that node from the server. In addition, the toolkit can either use ICE (Dimension X's graphics library - written in C) or it can use Direct 3D on the Microsoft platform. The toolkit is available on 4 different platforms: PLATFORM Solaris Windows 95/NT Linux IRIX PRICE The current beta version is available for free. -- To submit, mail postings to java@relog.ch (please read the guidelines posted)
