Wellcome to the new comp.lang.eiffel newsgroup!
This is the first of several messages which will
bring you up to date on important messages on the
now discontinued eiffel-notes mailing list.

Here are the stats from the electronic subscription forms
I had eiffel-notes mailing list subscribers fill out.
Results are from the first 5 weeks of subscriptions and cover
about 90% of the subscribers.

  110 respondents
335 total Initial number of eiffel-notes readers
58 I have read Object-oriented Software Construction by Bertrand Meyer.
   56 I would vote for a comp.lang.eiffel newsgroup.
82 I would vote for a comp.lang.oop newsgroup (covering all oo languages).
14 We have an Eiffel compiler.
7 We have an Eiffel compiler on order, almost, on the way, etc.

For those of you who don't know, Eiffel is presently
available only from Interactive Software Engineering,
the company owned by Bertrand Meyer, the language's
designer. (Bertrand hopes to see other implementations
of the language, and already one list subscriber has
claimed to be writing his own compiler.) Contact
information for ISE is as follows:
