I tried to install gnuplot unix version 3.5 on AIX 4.1.4 but it would not
compile. The makefile only accepts 'make aix32'. Is there a newer version
that compiles under AIX 4.1? The current version at ftp.dartmouth.edu is
3.5.

You may look at

  ftp://cmpc1.phys.soton.ac.uk/pub/ or additionally
  ftp://cmpc1.phys.soton.ac.uk/private/

To look in the 0README or 0INSTALL files without a necessary download see
the software archive at http://www.rz.go.dlr.de:8081/softarch.html
especially at

  http://www.rz.go.dlr.de:8081/unix/src/contrib/

The version beta297 compiles under AIX 4.1. Newest is beta301 but not yet
compiled by me.
