With gnuplot 3.5 I used this: set xtics ("0"0,"1"6,"2"12,"3"18,"4"24,"5"30,"6"36,"7"42,"8"48,"9"54,"10"60,"11 "66,"12"72,"13"78,"14"84,"15"90,"16"96,"17"102,"18"108,"19"114,"20"120,"21"126," 22"132,"23"138) This is for a similar situation.
