I just recently downloaded the Win 95 Apple IIE emulator program and everything works fine except for one thing. I am unable to create a save game disk. By following the instructions in the help file I created a file on a 3.5 disk but the emulator cannot open the file. There was mention in the help file of booting with a dos disk and then creating a file which I didn't do. I'm wondering whether this is necessary as I was working completely in Win95 with the emulator. It makes it kind of tough to save games when you don't have a save disk to insert. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx John "Remove + from address to email"

Remeber, the apple disks your are inserting are just files on your PC. So, the simplest way to create a new disk is to copy one of your .dsk files to another name. Presto, one new 140k disk image. Then if you want a blank DOS 3.3 disk, insert this new copy and do the INIT HELLO thing on it. Or use Copy ][+ and format the new disk as you wish. Jay.

First, remember that you "insert" a disk by selecting a file which is am "image". Hence, you don't really have to insert a floppy disk, but insert a "image" by clicking on the drive and selecting a "image.dsk" file. You did not mention what game, but lets assume that the disk you need is simply a blank formatted apple image.dsk. The best way to do this is to use Windows95 to copy an existing apple.dsk image (that boots, and you can do a catalog) to another name, say mygame.dsk. At that point you can format the mygame.dsk by using the apple command INIT HELLO. At that point you have a blank apple disk. Hence load you game, and when it prompts you for the save disk, click on your apple drive and select mygame.dsk as the image and then "save" your game. Also note that you *can* put images on a floppy disk (can fit almost 10 images on a 3.5 disk!)....just remember that you always must use a "image". Have fun. Albert D. Kallal Edmonton, Alberta Canada
