OCF,MPEG audio

Has anyone been (or is ) working on the OCF coder?
Could you tell me if any relavant code is available - e.g. at ftp sites?

I am particulary interested in any information regarding the calculation of
masking threshold, noise shaping and psycoacoustic weighting as is used
in this coder.

I believe the basic principles of this coder are incorporated in the
proposed ISO/MPEG standard. Any comments or information will be highly
appreciated.

Thanks.

Annie.

The work on OCF was done here in Erlangen at the university and at the
Fraunhofer Institute. In the process of standardization (ISO MPEG/AUDIO
and Eureka 149 several partners merged their algorithms. OCF now
is a part of ASPEC (adaptive spectral perceptual entropy coding)
which is a in basic the kernal of the Layer III of the upcoming
ISO standard ISO MPEG/AUDIO.

Actual there is no public code available. There will be a implementation
of the ISO standard in C (done by a group of people NOT concerned with
the developement of the algorithm, kind of clean room work). Ask your
national patent body, they should get this code first.
You will get a copy of the draft (ISO CD 11172-3) from this office, too
(I hope).

If You want more information, see in the publications on several conferences:
AES coventions (audio engineering society)
AES conferences
of the last years.
Look for authors:
K. Brandenburg,
J.D. Johnston
G. Stoll
G. Theile
(there are many others, but with this four names You will find many
coworkers of them, too)

I hope this will work You to start !
