Voice compression (CELP) in ZyXEL modem

ZyXEL modems (with the new ROMS: 5.01) have sound input/output features.
The compression algorithms used are CELP, 2-ADPCM and 3-ADPCM with datarates
of 9600, 19200 and 28800 bps respectively.

I would like to be able to pack/unpack voice messages for/from the modem
in my computer. The problem decomposes in the questions:

1) How, exactly, does data from the three algorithms look like?
Is there any source code available?

2) How, exactly, does the datastream from the ZyXEL modem look like?
I.e., is there any additional codes in the data or, perhaps, ZyXEL
specific features of the algorithms used in the modems?

Please answer in e-mail.
If I get good answers I'll post them!
