Last week I enjoyed a trip from Brisbane to Robina and back. Top marks to QR for their bright new trains on this line. I found the stations at Helensvale and Nerang somewhat dis-orienting, both island platforms, where the trains take a right hand path through the station. Can anyone give the reason why these stations don't conform with the usual left hand running - perhaps they were designed by a Yank? Regards David Bennetts

The trains alternate left and right - or port and starboard - to ensure that wind erosion on the platform face is equalised, other wise you are replacing one side all the time....... Graham

Coomera and Nerang use the main line 140 km/ph. Helensvale is the crossing station. One train must use different tracks. Robina uses the eastern platform.Higher enter and exit speeds. (The above is what happens usually what happens on 30 minute services) Coomera and Nerang loop speed is 80km/ph. Glen (these comments are those of the author)
