We all remember the incident where a lib adviser broke into a journalist's office at the assembly and stole a document from her desk, don't we? Well, the latest little example of lib morals came at the weekend when a Canberra Times editor received a telephone call from a different lib adviser telling him that one of the people who participated in the 60 minutes program which did such a good job of damning Kate Carnell for her role in the hospital explosion had ACCEPTED MONEY FROM 60 MINUTES to do so and without telling the Bender family. The allegation was, of course, pure fiction. So, the liberal party is now openly cooking up blatant lies to protect itself from the consequences of its dishonest and incompetent decisions of the last few years. Surely it is time for the party itself to jettison these rotten apples and get back on track to being a competent and honest option for Canberra voters?

It didn't happen, so the Canberra Times couldn't run the article the lying-dog lib media adviser wanted them to run.

In article <7umm7l$2vp$1@bomb.dynamite.com.au>, fergus_mcd@yahoo.com says... > As you might realise from the header, local politics IS, in > fact, the issue here. The original post was sent to a politics-related newsgroup that doesn't deal specifically with canberra, and a canberra newsgroup that doesn't deal specifically with politics. Therefore the response could have come from someone who reads only the politics newsgroup, or only the canberra newsgroup, and therefore doesn't give a rats about the combination of politics and canberra local issues. In which case, it isn't unreasonable that they wouldn't know about the event you mentioned. > It didn't happen, so the Canberra Times couldn't run the > article the lying-dog lib media adviser wanted them to run. But how do you know it didn't happen? Just because the Canberra Times doesn't do a story on it doesn't mean it didn't happen - it just means the C. Times didn't do a story on it. Not that I disbelieve your story, just curious to know how you know it didn't happen. Emma

The Crimes is the most biased capital city newspaper in the country, far worse than the Telegraph, Hearald Sun or Courier Mail. In terms of Tory rags, I find it unusual they did not publish it, as it would have made good damage control for Carnell. In this case, even the Canberra Times wouldn't be able to get away with sucking up to Carnell and her cronies that advertise in the pathetic rag. There is no way the public would have swallowed it. Even if someone did get paid it has nothing to do with the real issue. Was Carnell behind the decision that chose the company who turned an implosion into an explosion that killed a 12 year old kid? Was she behind the decision to publicise the whole event like a fireworks display, the reason the kid was there? Did she visit the girl's family on the night she was killed and lie to them as they claim? We'll find out when the Coroner's report is released.
