book in?

hehe your subject line gives it away, almost

WAB is the file extension just do a search for *.wab and you should find at
least 1 file possibly more check them by the file size (The real one should
be quite large)

Should've mentioned that I tried this with no success. I remember this was
the case in older versions of Windows but in XP there is no *.wab file

Did you remember to check the Show hidden files and folders option under My
Computer : Tools : Folder Options : View
Or whatever applies to XP
I use Win2000 and my address book is in

C:\Documents and Settings\Steve Pugh\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

Regards
Steve

Yes I did that. Funny thing is when I look in the folder you mention the
file is there. Upon further investigation, it appears to be another fuckup
from MS. The default search option doesn't search hidden folders even if you
have chosen to display them. You have to manually select to search hidden
folders.
The WinXP search function shits me. It takes 10 times longer than Win2k, it
doesn't search for all files unless you specify it, and you have extra steps
of ticking stupid little boxes you never need.
What was wrong with the original search feature?
