Ya gota be happy with the Hankooks K406 Silicas tyres

Just ticked over 110,000km and STILL in RWC !! [ just ].

Better yet, no noticeable drop in wet [or dry] grip which is real surprising
esp. after the factory_fit_garbage come tyre called GoodYear GA which where
like Fords in general shit, after less than half worn and dangerous

The tyre-man already has my new Toyos T/Teo in stock for fitting [look ok
time will tell], told him late this or early next at current wear
rate.......

Well done S/Korea

You keep raving about them....
On one of the cars, their slip angles are bloody awful!!
Maybe, only maybe, that's a function of tread design.
Because if it's the material, then they're shite!

We're getting different results on different cars here.
The one that corners 'flat' hates the K406's. Good for a learner driver
though:-) The heavier one that lets a little roll into the matter seems to
like the K406's. So far, can't really figure it out other than the fact
that the compound may be be set up for heavier cars.
Still figuring.

only 1/2 a tank of fuel

made the tyre_man buy something in that he does not stock......Payback i

No no better price of course :-)) A few points less anyway

I actually got them for zip, i did some business with him and built $400
[plan ahead] into the price i charged him for a widget and yet thanks to
buying the widget at the right price i was still cheaper than any quote he
had,,,,,,,,

The joys of contacts and buying *right*

Got 'em on my car. All good here, they are wearing well with good grip
levels. They are one of the few tyres which seem to have the balance
between wear rate and grip about right.

Got 406's on the Fairlane (already on the car when I bought it) and on
the Corolla.
The OE Bridgestone's on the Corolla only lasted 40,000klms and they were
ok for grip but the 406's are significantly better and they should also
last a lot longer.
They seem ok on the Fairlane but I don't drive it like a sportscar.

Not sure which Hankook tyres were on my Dad's Daewoo when he bought it new
but they lasted 140,000km.

I average about 25,000 km to a set of radials on the Lada. You must
all drive rike old rady.
Sava only lasted 20,000 km, got a bit skittish in the wet toward the
end of life.

my point being that Al either drives like an absolute madman up
in the hills for every kilometre or there is some serious
suspension and wheel alignment probs , or just using shit tyres

All wheel aligned, plenty of roundabouts and winding roads, tend to
rip up the fronts, then rotate to the back. I have an odd squeeling
noise sometimes when cornering. Can't make out where it's coming from.
The screaming is often the passenger, but it's probably just the
spiders.
I don't like those big gay 4wds with the shiny paint. They tend to hog
the middle of the road so they don't get a scratch from branches or
their tyres dirty. Bunch of pussies. Lada has been through two bad
hail storms and it's hardly noticable. Big gay 4wd were pummled...
GOOD.
A Lada is more the affordable 4wd Howie should have promoted to the
masses rather than the big gay ones his crooked mates could afford.
Think of the health benefits from pushing and walking instead of
wanking.
