I like to imagine that Springfield is in the Midwest because I'm from
the Midwest, but I'm pretty sure that Groening confirmed that the city
is named after Springfield, Oregon.

I always thought there was no answer to that question, it was never
meant to be in any specific state.  Some episodes show Sprinfield
landlocked, others show it by the coast.

Hey hey! Sure hope there are enough folks to keep this group up and alive. As
someone who skimmed txt groups every once in a while, I’d love to stop by
more frequently and join in on a conversation. Will do my duty to start
