I rolled my eyes so many times at everyone's gross overreaction to the Big Revelation that it's a miracle they didn't get stuck. But leaving that aside (maybe for now, maybe forever)... ...in the middle of the brouhaha, someone (Chase? Ned?) commented that Brook Lynn would be a great mom to Gio. Again with the parent designation given by adult people to those whose only roles were providers of gametes! To name just a few: Dante and Sonny, Trina and Curtis, Carly and Bobbie, Ethan and Luke, Cody and Mac, Sasha and Robert, and worst of all, Willow and Nina! Ugh--the list is an endless gagfest! None of those "parents" raised those offspring. Gio was raised by an adoptive mother and is no longer a minor child. Brook Lynn is his mother by virtue of biology *only*. But it won't be long before he's calling her "Mom" and Dante "Dad," and they're both providing him with sage parental guidance. The worst was the Qs reacting as if Brook Lynn had just given birth at the Nurses' Ball instead of 20-something years ago. Tracy was most ridiculous of them all--congratulating Olivia on becoming a grandmother as if the "baby" were a newborn instead of a young man, picking up a portrait of Lila and Edward that had been sitting in plain view for years--a photo that Gio would certainly have seen every time he'd been in that room--and showing it to him as if he'd never seen it before, telling him, "these are your great-great-grandparents!" and "everything in this house is yours!" Really? Everything? I'll bet Monica and Ned and the rest of the Qs who aren't Jason might have something to say about that. I know, I know, it's a daytime drama. But last week was too much. Instead of Lucy's traditional wardrobe malfunction we got a smashed violin and...I don't know WTH all of that was. :( -- K

If I heard someone say that behind closed doors, my first inclination would be to confront them to make sure I heard right.

I think most people *would* have confronted Lois and Lulu before going off like Gio did. You'd think he would have confronted them, considering that just a day or two before, he'd eavesdropped on the Qs then stepped into the room to say that he'd overheard what they'd said and wanted to comment. So why run off when he overheard Lois and Lulu? But by "all of that," I meant not just Gio's meltdown, which was weird enough, but also the entire Q family's reaction to it. Dramatic overload doesn't begin to describe it. -- K
