Are you in a position to donate aging PDP-11 computers? Then I want to
hear from you. I am searching for any and all such equipment, which shall
become part of my computer museum. I seek to salvage and restore both
mini-mainframes and true mainframe computers. Yours need not be in
working condition. Help me to save computers of the past for posterity,
before it is too late.

It might be sensible to tell the world where you are located. Unless
you want to UPS-airlift a DECsystem 10 or so ;-)

I'll fight you for it if he has - my KL is incomplete and my 2020
doesn't have enough flashing lights. (seriously)

I am in California, USA, and yes, I would be happy to obtain systems by
means such as airlifting. A DEC-10 would be a fine acquisition. Do you
have same?

My name is William R. Buckley. I am a computer scientist, published author
of many papers (in ASCII Magazine, the Byte Magazine of Japan - in the
column Hobnobbing with the Hyper Hacker, and in a book edited by
Clifford A. Pickover, titled Visions of the Future), and the owner of an
11/34a and an 11/45. I have worked as a programmer professionally for
nearly 30 years, and am a regular invitee of the Hackers Conference, which
is not to be confused with DefCon, nor any other conference frequented by
computational terrorists. Together with the late James Hauser, I wrote the
game called TypeAttack, which was publised by the company Sirius
Software in the early 1980's and which taught touch typing through the use
of a gaming motif similar to the arcade game Space Invaders. I also have
the distinction of having written the first computer program ever to be
published in its entirety in the magazine Scientific American - see the
Apple Worm as listed in the March 1985 issue in the column Computer
Recreations. Finally, I was the second director of the International Core
Wars Society, the remnants of which are retained in the
rec.games.corewar newsgroup.

Nope, no space in my apartment for that kind of machines. All Q-bus here
with 2.11BSD

I have a PDP-11/23 with two RL02 drives, DLV-11J, LA-100, VT-220, and
about 20 RL02 packs. The processor and disk drives are mounted in the
standard mid-height cabinet that DEC was selling, and the system was
last running RSX-11M. The system was in running condition, last time I
powered it up (~5 years ago). It is located in Houston, Texas and it
is yours for the taking.

Regards,
Mike
