Pat, I disagree that the Niners don't showboat. Yes, they had Deion last year. They also had Ken Norton who boxes with goal posts, Merton Hanks (I don't know what to call the dance he does with his neck), and Ricky Watters (if you're going to knock Irvin, you have to knock Watters). I've also seen Brent Jones spike the ball in opponents faces a few times. Don't get me wrong- I'm not putting down the 49ers for those things. My point has been that if you have a winning team with pro-bowl players, they all are going to get cocky and showboat- and it would happen on any team. Just out of curiosity, who else on the cowboys do you think showboats besides Irvin and Sanders? I know I've heard some people put Emmitt down for taking his helmet off after he scores touchdowns. But you also have to admit that he hasn't once spiked a football or do a dance. Also, you'll notice that he almost always pats the other teams players on the head after they tackle him- he doesn't get in anyone's face. Here's how I see it (and I know many people disagree). Yes, the cowboys have Irvin and Sanders. What can you say about these people showboating: Jay Novacek, Kevin Williams, Leon Lett, Chad Hennings, Tony Tolbert, Robert Jones, Dixon Edwards, Darrin Smith, Larry Brown, Brock Marion, Darren Woodson, Charles Haley, Russell Maryland, Troy Aikman, Daryl Johnston, Mark Tuinei, Erik Williams, Nate Newton, Derek Kennard, and Larry Allen? Basically, I just listed the rest of the cowboys starters (unless I missed someone). I don't think there are too many examples of these guys showboating. Do you agree? I hope you agree, but I won't know until you respond. But if you do agree, then maybe the cowboys arn't a bunch of showboaters after all? I think that Sanders and Irvin have such loud personalities and grab so much of the spotlight for themselves that people stereotype the entire team to be like them. Reno
