Why bring him up.  He got lucky on the HR, on all the other at bats he look
absolutely horrible.

   Kearns is going to play RF from now on, I'll bet. I don't know what to
think about Church, but he was on a bit of a hitting streak in the minors. I
think he's capable, but needs confidence/support/something and it's good
that the fans cheered him.
   The shot of the dugout after the homer looked like his teammates were
pretty happy for him......

I was surprised at the number of fans who cheered for him.  I don't get it.
And why bat him 7th?  Move him to the 8th spot and move him to the 9th spot
when Livan or Ramon pitches. Move Kearns to center and give Ward a start in
RF.
