Cigar's performance in the Woodward was awesome. Although most of us are
in this game for a little money (and I do mean a little), you really have
to appreciate greatness when it happens to come along. If Cigar taking
the lead at the turn didn't put goosebumps or a lump in your throat,
you're in the wrong game and might as well be buying scratch-off lottery
tickets. It might be long time before we see another this good. I was a
very big Holy Bull fan, but give credit where it is due. For some reason
I really though the tank was empty when he dropped 5 lenghts back.
Congratulations to everyone conneceted with the horse. And thanks for
the memories.

in a generation horse. I saw him in last years BC and I'll see him in this
years!! Can't wait to bet with what looks like play money! Oh Canada......

You express my sentiments exactly!! I loved the "Bull", and when he retired,
I had a chip on my shoulder about Cigar, until late last year. I also
believed he wasn't going to do any running until the far turn. When he caught
the leaders, I knew he wasn't going to lose. Jerry didn't even cock his
stick, just a pat or two on the shoulder. What race is next for him? THey
mentioned one in 3 weeks?

And how about Skip Away? Maybe he'll step up next year & be the next "big
horse?" I wouldn't mind another grey. Grey horse - Cigar - Grey horse?

Hey--you guys can knock off the 'Play money" joke any time now! At least with
our money you can tell instantly and a distance, what denomination it is. Not
such a dumb idea. Especailly for those with failing vision....

Hi Lois,

I think the next start for Cigar is the Jockey Club Gold Cup on October 5.
I read in the paper that he's following the same path (of races) that he
did this time last year up to the Breeders' Cup. I also heard that Skip
Away might run in the Gold Cup, too!! THAT would be interesting,
especially since there might not be a Cigar-Skip Away match up in the
Breeders' Cup.
