My "The Great Usenet Just-Say-No-To-Piss-Testing List" (the Piss List) has made it to the big time. You have probably seen this list because it is posted monthly to this group. It is a tabulation of companies that conduct drug, psychological, polygraph, credit or other personal privacy invasive tests as a condition of employment. Recently I learned that the List had been written about in "The Privacy Journal", a publication I'd never heard of (anyone have an address or phone number?) This was good. Vastly better, however, has been the subsequent happenings. Today I gave a phone interview to Ms Nikki Godfrey of the Wireless Flash Network. WFN is a news network that supplies printed news and trivia to over 1000 mostly rock radio stations. We talked for about a half an hour about privacy, civil liberties, my motivation and my interest in drug issues (strictly civil libertarian). She said to expect the report to appear on the air within the next two weeks. I expect it to be very favorable. One interesting question was "Are you afraid that people will confuse your civil liberties effort with drug use advocacy? My reply was "Many people apparently hold the fantasy that Clinton is a good president. I just can't let peoples' whacko ideas affect my work." Laughs all around. She said that many stations, particularly those in larger markets, like to interview the subjects of such reports. I gave her my phone number. This has the potential to be very good for those of us fighting against the Drug War on the Constitution. It will at least present the other side of the government's propaganda and physical violence war against the populace. I can hardly wait. She gave me a list of stations in the Atlanta area who use their service. Those include WAPW (?), WKLS (rock), WPCH (elevator music), WSTR (?). Check your local stations for affiliates. I believe his phone number is 401/274-7861. If your list was included in the Journal you should have recieved a complimentary copy. I got one when I was mentioned for my work in comp.society.privacy. dennis
